broiled miso salmon

  • 3 tbsp light (white) miso paste
  • 1 shallot, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 1” chunk of ginger, peeled & minced
  • 4 salmon filets, deboned, skin off

  1. Step one: combine the miso, shallot, mirin, water, vinegar, sesame oil & ginger in a blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Step two: pour the miso sauce over the salmon filets in a sealable container & refrigerate for a few hours.
  3. Step three: remove the salmon filets from the container, removing excess amounts of the miso marinade from the filets, and place the filets on a non-stick baking sheet
  4. Step four: place filets under a searing hot broiler and broil the filets until lightly browned on both sides (broil approx. 4-5 minutes per side depending on how hot your broiler gets)
  5. Step five: remove, plate, and enjoy!
